This time of year we’re recovering from the holidays, not just physically but financially.  Trying to keep warm but still be mindful of what we spend, as we recoup.  One thing that tends to make our bills skyrocket these early months (and my husband sort of, kind of, ‘not so happy’) is the high heat bill.  Like the air conditioner in the summer time, we need to keep the heat on in the house to keep our tootsies warm.

I was given the opportunity to review the Harman Pellet Stoves site, and with the chill in the air, it came at a perfect time!  I learned so much about these stoves and how they serve as a great alternative to traditional sources–could be the perfect solution for us!

In 1979 Dane Harman decided he wanted to reduce his family’s heating bills, and began to design his own stove.  The Harman Company has been making stoves ever since, and is now an industry leader.

These stoves are freestanding, and provide charm and ambiance to any room in your home (translation—they are cute and will fit my decor).  They can be efficient wood burners, fueled by pellet or coal.  I love that they are not a ‘one size fits all’ because let’s face it, every home is different so with a variety of sizes and styles to choose from you are sure to find a stove that suits your space.

A really cool aspect about Harman Pellet Stoves is that they are a popular heating alternative for people who are looking to reduce their carbon footprint, fantastic for the environment!

Pellet Stoves are Awesome

Did you know that using a pellet stove as a heating alternative costs 44% less than oil, 47% less than electric, and a whopping 53% less than propane heat?  How’s that for a little cha-ching in your pocket this winter?!

So guess what?   To get you as psyched as I am about Harman, they’re giving away a Harman notebook!  It’s made of 100% recycled materials and comes with a pen!

  1. I have a friend who has one of these stoves and she loves it! Not as messy as a wood stove and very economical!

  2. We used to have a pellet stove in our old house…loved it (and miss it)! We definitely need and want to put another in, and soon!

  3. We currently heat our house with coal. While I love the heat, the coal dust is horrible. Also I love that the pellets are actually cheaper than coal!! Got to love that!!!

  4. I have a friend that has a pellet stove and loves it! I have wanted one every since I saw hers and felt the heat from it! Her house was so comfortable and she said it was a very economical way to heat!
